Attention!!!

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to tell everyone on this blog that my dad passed away 3 weeks ago. It was very sudden, like I mentioned before in previous posts that he had gone into Assisted Living and was enjoying it so much. He was 87 and had been a very active man who just enjoyed life right until the end.

Well, we are in the process of all the paperwork and going through his home so we will be working all that for a while. So if you look down to the last post you will see that there are two names of people that may be able to help you. I can try and help with things I have here at home, I have some marriage record indexes, cemetery index, and a 1894 and 1906 plat books. So I will try and help as much as I can.

Talk to all of you real soon!!

I'm sorry for your loss. I am going through the same with my 97yr old mother. I am trying to locate information on the family Of Melvin McLaughlin, his wife "Nina" and children. I show him listed on a 1910 census as living there. I'm wondering if he is buried there, he died in 1937 or any info you have for them. Thank you for any help.

Hi Sharon,

I found Melvin in our Sanilac County Cemetery Index. Here is what I found. Melvin was laid to rest in Marlette, Michigan, in Marlette Cemetery. He was born in 1877 and died in 1937, he is in Section H.

Nina is buried with him in Section H. she was born 1880 and died 1918. Now if you send me an email with the childrens names I may be able to see if they are buried in the same cemetery there are many McLaughlin in this cemetery.

I sure hope this helps.

I have acquired a C.S. Bell cast iron School house bell that was reported to have been recovered from a schoolhouse in Sanilac County. The bell manufacture is dated between 1875 and 1882. The schoolhouse was torn down approx 35 years ago. Can you help uncover any information on a school that that may have built between 1875 and 1882? Or any news on school house demolition between 1972 and 1976? I inherited the bell from an Aunt who lived on Wildcat Road in Croswell. She was given the bell by a HVAC contractor who had volunteered to be a participant on the demolition project. Thank-you for any assistance you might be able to offer
